About Me
My Background
Priya Batchu is an M.A. candidate in NYU’s Business and Economic Reporting program. She graduated with a B.S. in Biology from Bucknell University, where she conducted technical research spanning oncology, scientific writing, and public health — including sorting PubMed articles for an oncologist researching rare tumors and studying substance use disorder among expectant mothers in rural Pennsylvania.
After taking a Behavioral Finance + Economics courses, Priya discovered a bridge between science and the markets. Today, she covers narratives at the intersection of cryptocurrency, biotech, pharma, and the oil and gas equities markets — driven by a fascination with geopolitics and the flow of global energy. She approaches stories with an analyst’s eye and a journalist’s voice.
Priya lives in New York City and loves all things pickles — the crunchier, the better.
